Do I get a physical ticket?

  • No. Once a student purchases a ticket, we have their name and their guest’s name on record. You should bring a photo ID to the event’s check-in table in order to get into the event. We recommend you bring your CNU ID.

Does my guest have to be a CNU student?

  • No. Your guest does not have to be a CNU student. However, they will still need to show a photo ID at the door in order to claim their guest ticket.

Can non-CNU students purchase a ticket?

  • No. Only CNU students can purchase Captain’s Ball tickets. All non-CNU guests must be accompanied by a current CNU student.

Can CNU Alumni purchase tickets?

  • No, this event is for current CNU students and their guests only. An alum may only come if they are the guest of a current student.

Can I get a refund on my ticket?

  • There are no refunds. However, you may be able to sell your ticket to another student. If you would like to transfer the ownership of your ticket to another CNU student, email cab@cnu.edu and CC the student you would like to transfer the ticket to.

I can no longer go to Captain’s Ball but my roommate wants my ticket. Can I give it to her?

  • Yes! Email cab@cnu.edu and CC the student who will be taking your ticket.

How will I know if I’m a VIP ticket-holder?

  • VIP guests will receive a confirmation email once all VIP tickets are sold. If you do not receive a VIP confirmation email but believe you were one of the first 100 students to purchase a ticket, email cab@cnu.edu.

If I am a VIP ticket holder and bought a ticket for me and my roommate, are we both VIP?

  • If you bought the tickets at the same time under 1 purchase, then yes. Both guests are listed as VIP.

Can I get a VIP ticket?

  • VIP tickets only go to the first 100 students that purchase a ticket. Unfortunately, if you did not purchase a ticket within the first 100, there are no VIP tickets available.

Is there alcohol at the event?

  • There will be a cash bar for guests that are 21+. No students, regardless of age, are permitted to bring alcohol into the event.

What is the dress attire?

  • This is a formal event, so we encourage guests to dress in formal attire. Think of what you might wear to a Homecoming dance or Prom. Full length or above the knee dresses, suits, ties, dress shoes, all encouraged.
